CPP installs highest FRP pile liner for Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company, BIFPCL

In a bid to create lasting impact, Chemical Process Piping (CPP), a sixty-year-old industrial piping solutions company and India’s first pioneer in the manufacture of GRP and FRP based pipes, has announced the work of an FRP stack in the FGD factory. set up by BIFPCL – Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Ltd, which is a 50:50 joint venture shared by the Indian national company National Thermal Power Corp and the Bangladesh Power Development Board. With the ongoing domestic and international projects, CPP plans to achieve an annual turnover of Rs 300 crore by 2024, which is the first in the FRP industry for a pureplay FRP piping company.
CPP has successfully completed Phase I of this Maitree Super Thermal Power Plant project with BHEL and Simplex in Bangladesh. CPP becomes the first player in the segment to achieve the feat of constructing an 800 foot FRP pile for a 1,320 MW coal-fired power plant in Rampal, Bangladesh. CPP is the first FRP manufacturer in this part of the world to use vertical winding technology to filament wind the FRP stack for its project in Bangladesh. The project is a thermal power plant based on environmentally friendly supercritical technology.
Vijay Rajpurohit, General Manager, Chemical Process Piping (CPP) said, “Fabrication of stackable liners using FRP for coal-fired power plants FGD (Super:FGD – Flue Gas Desulfurization) is the preferred solution in the whole world. The reason for this is that it is made from a single material, making it an extremely low maintenance proposition.Add to that, the proven qualities of FRP give it the perfect construction characteristics for a highly industrial chimney. corrosive. With the Make in India initiative, Indian FRP manufacturers are in a position to bring in foreign exchange and boost the economy. The company unveiled a white paper during the 6th Flue Gas Desulfurization Conference held in Delhi on July 19, 2022. The white paper shed light on the use of FRP stacks for FGD plants and why using FRP is the inexpensive and durable alternative to traditional metal liners in concrete chimneys.
CPP has several firsts to its name, such as the installation of a 50 km fire water system for Petronas and for the installation of the largest FRP cooling water pipe for a nickel mine in Caledonia. As a market leader in GRP, FRP, GRE for nearly six decades, CPP’s market share for FRP piping in Chlor – Alkali Membrane Cell Plants is over 90% in India. Similarly, for soda ash plants, it’s more than 80% market share. Additionally, the company has supplied FRP pipes to more than 25 desalination plants around the world. The chemical industry contributes 40% of its revenues while the other markets contribute the remaining 60% in total. CPP has been ‘Making in India’ for over 60 years and serving global markets even before the concept was popularized by the Indian government. The project in Bangladesh required a makeshift manufacturing facility, which was another feat achieved by the company. While talking about how FRP can help reduce construction costs while ensuring safety and durability, he adds, “CPP is equipped to fabricate large FRP Stack liners on site, eliminating local transportation issues. . Also, size is no longer a limit now. Production cycle times are very short, which allows the CPP to support several projects at the same time. Installing FRP Stack liners takes a fraction of the time.
CPP products are exported to countries like Germany, Singapore, USA, France, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Canada, etc. are electricity, desalination, chemicals, oil and gas and metallurgy.
