The self-adhesive label and the Release Liner Sector are increasingly developing more sustainable solutions. Developments in green products, technologies and recycling are opening up new opportunities for companies in the specialty paper, film, packaging, coating and converting value chain which in recent months have been facing supply shortages, bottlenecks in logistics and increases in raw material prices .
Corey Reardon, President and CEO of AWA, will open the seminar with an overview of the product labeling and decoration market, followed by an overview of Release Liner and Matrix sub-products.
Pablo Englebienne, Head of Regulatory Affairs, FINAT, will cover regulatory developments and future directions at EU level, such as the Circular Economy Action Plan and the Chemical Strategy for Sustainability, and analyze some Member State measures having an impact on the packaging industry .
Jan ‘T Hart, Senior Consultant, and Gian Debelder, Technical Director, R&D & Packaging Sustainability at Procter & Gamble, will present on the Digital Watermarks HolyGrail 2.0 initiative – and then provide a real-time Q&A session.
The second part of the seminar, introduced by a presentation by CEPI’s Trade and Industrial Policy Director, Bernard Lombard, will provide an update on the European Green Deal and the Single-Use Plastics Directive.
Following an update from CELAB Europe, Vincenzo Pierro, Business Solutions Manager MEA, Mondi, will present the durable release liner for label applications.
To wrap up the seminar, Anum Javed Beg, Head of Market Research, AWA Alexander Watson Associates, will be joined by Marika Knorr, Head of Sustainability and Communications, CCL Industries, Stefan Schönberger, Head of Product Sustainability at Mondi, Functional Paper & Films, and by Avery Dennison for a panel discussion on business aspects, challenges and opportunities in sustainability and PS Label & Release Liner.
